Here are commonly asked questions. Don't see yours? Ask us here.
Q: Why does your SHOP NOW button take me to Genevieve's website?
A: This year, Close Buy is partnering with Genevieve's, a Massachusetts-based school fundraising catalog. Genevieve's will be managing Close Buy's orders and fulfillment. All of our data will run through their sophisticated and smooth system, getting your order to you when you expect it! In order for this to happen, Close Buy customers will be shopping via the Close Buy portal on genevieves.com
Q: I'm shopping for Close Buy products on the Genevieve's site. Can I pop a roll of giftwrap into my cart?
A: Yes you can! It will all ship together.
Q: When does the fundraiser take place?
A: Schools may run their sales anywhere they'd like to, within the window of Sept 1 through October 21.
Q: Do you have a spring fundraiser?
A: This is in the works!
Q: I want to use Close Buy. How can I get my school involved?
A: All we need to sign you up is a signed contract.
Q: Who can use Close Buy?
A: Preschools, elementary, middle and high schools, both public and private, and non-profit organizations.
Q: How does Close Buy work?
A: Participating organizations get their catalogs in August (sent to your school for free). You can run your sale any time within the window of Sept. 1 - Oct. 21. Customers can order online or via paper order form. Orders ship about three weeks after being received (for paper forms, orders ship three weeks after all forms are received from the school) starting Nov. 1. ALL orders must be sent to Genevieve's by end of business day, 10/21/16 (a prepaid envelope will be provided by CBC). CBC is only able to accept checks from tax-exempt fundraising organizations and cannot accept personal checks from individual customers.
Q: How will I get my stuff?
A: Orders can either show up in bulk to schools, or be shipped directly to individual customers.
Q: Will my order arrive in time for Hanukkah?
A: Most of the time, yes.
Q: When will my package/s ship?
A: Schools can schedule their shipments to arrive whenever they'd like, after Nov. 1, and at least 3 weeks AFTER order forms have been received by us. Individuals who order online and ship home will receive their orders three weeks after they are placed but not before Nov. 1.
Q: Is there a charge for shipping?
A: That depends on your school's gross sales, and where you live.
Prices apply to schools in MA, ME, VT, RI, NH, CT, NY and NJ
- For sales $6500 or above, freight is FREE.
- For sales $5000-6499, freight is $105.
- For sales $2500-4999 freight is $79
- For sales up to $2499, freight is $63
Online orders that ship directly to customers are not added to student sales when determining freight costs. In addition, folks can choose to pay a shipping fee and have their order deliver directly to their home. Online orders $79 or higher ship free to customers' homes.
Q: What percentage of sales goes to my school/charity?
A: 30% of sales (before tax and shipping is added) will go to your school. 40% of Genevieve's products will go to your school.
Q: Our wrapping paper catalog gave us a much larger percentage. How can you compete with that?
A: On average, Close Buy order totals are higher, number of units sold is significantly higher, and parent participation rates and enthusiasm is greater. In our experience most schools earn the same, if not more, than they do with other catalog fundraisers.
Q: Do you offer schools materials to help market the sale?
A: Yes! We have a special portal for our schools, where they can download posters, flyers, (with free customization for your school), a sample press release library (organized by state) and a customizable letter to families. All of these documents are available for download.
Q: Do you have prizes?
A: We sure do! Check out our prize page!
Q: Can our school run a concurrent fundraiser?
A: Yes and no. For the first time, we are able to offer concurrent fundraising catalogs from Genevieve's only. Check them out here.
