Interested Vendors

If you are a vendor and are interested in being included in the 2012 Close Buy Catalog, please fill out the Submission Questionnaire below. We will get back to you as soon as we can. 

Please keep in mind that we do not accept sized items (i.e. t-shirts) or "one of a kind" items. If your products are appropriate for Close Buy we will invite you to send a sample of each product you would like considered, in its packaging, along with a wholesale price sheet to our office address (424 Fore St., 3rd Floor, Portland, ME 04101). Please keep in mind that we must be able to double your wholesale prices. 

Our review board has two meetings each fall. Deadline for 2012 submissions is October 15, 2011.

Product Submission Guidelines for Vendors

  1. Close Buy will review products from Maine businesses whose goods are produced in the USA.
  2. Vendors must supply high-quality, 300 dpi photography. If you do not have good photos of your product, you can opt to have the shots taken by CBC for a fee.
  3. Each vendor must supply a short description of each item to be published in the catalog. Please include dimensions and weights if applicable.
  4. Each vendor must supply a short description of the business and a photo of her/himself, the team, the studio or the storefront to be included in the catalog. Close Buy does not publish vendors' websites, but will include a description of your location (e.g. "Portland's east end" or "downtown Yarmouth").
  5. CBC will include your logo, space permitting. If submitting a logo, please remember that it must be a high-quality, high-resolution version. Vector art is preferred.
  6. CBC requires signed contracts with all vendors. Contact CBC if you'd like a copy of the vendor contract.
  7. Vendors are asked to observe the timeline, and to respect CBC's deadlines, since our deadlines hinge on participating schools' deadlines, which are not flexible.
